We sleep safely at night because rough men stand ready to visit violence on those who would harm us.
There are a few versions of the "... rough men stand ready..." quote and credit is given to a few individuals for the saying or something like it.
But no matter who has said it and who gets credit for it, the words hold meaning for all military, law enforcement, and civilian first responders who are ready to answer the call at any time of the day or night to protect fellow countrymen, servicemen and civilians from any foe during their time of need.
